Not that I'm aware of.  Why do you need to do that?  I just keep the
original bitmap as a .bmp file on my HD.

Or do you need to keep the full 24 bits in the resource file, so you can use
the data for 16 bit images on a prism or similar?  If so, I think there is a
special tool for the prism.
