I've developed 4 or 5 apps so far, using Linux pretty much exclusively
(both C and C++). Pose, GDB (plus ddd!) work great. Last time I was
writing a mulitsegment app, gdb wouldn't work, but it can be worked
around, and is probably close to being fixed. As for Palm Desktop, there
are tons of hotsync programs for Linux that you can use instead. I like
jpilot.
I think the only time I had to turn to windows was to run the Handspring
version of pose.
