If you do an no-notify reset (by holding in the up button while resetting),
the IR library won't load. If you then try to beam, it will fail in this
way. People often forget to do a regular reset after deleting the offending
app when they use no-notify reset to recover a device that crashed on reset.
That's probably what happened.
