There isn't an API call to find out which device you're running on. From
what I've seen, Palm doesn't encourage figuring out which device/model your
running on. But they do encourage you to check the OS revision and to see
if the feature you wish to use is available, then to return the device to
the same state your app found it in. Besides, the C3 is a re-branded V.
They basically are the same device with different logos.
You can use this table to see which OS version you should be testing for:

units now have OS 3.5 updates available.
