aloha list members:
I just purchased a new notebook computer with Windows ME. this computer
also sports an IR port. WinME seems pretty smart about its IR port. I
can...
* from Palm OS beam a PRC to my notebook's desktop.
* I can drag a PRC file from my notebook desktop to the 'wireless link' icon
and it will beam the file to my Palm
* I can beam an appointment from my Palm to the desktop (appears as a vcs
file)
it is what I can't do that has me confused and upset.
I cannot seem to beam a database from my application that I wrote to the
notebook. I'm using the ExgDBWrite/ExgSend pair of API calls from the
knowledge base tech note on beaming databases (that I'm sure everyone has
read).
my application can beam its databases to other Palms, just not to the WinME
desktop. it gets started OK but seems to hang in some kind of exchange loop
early on in the transfer. I would imagine it would sit there forever.
so, to anyone listening out there. since the Palm OS (launcher?) can beam a
PRC to WinME, that means it must do something different then the knowledge
base note describes. can any of you Palm employed engineers shed some
light?
