Try compress the images. Look at the zlib homepage at
http://www.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/zlib/zlib.html
There is some Palm specific stuff too.
Or use a non-looseless (ie loose some information) compression like
jpeg. (Might also be on that page)
To get an idea of what you would gain, try on a pc to zip a picture,
or save it as a jpeg file.
You can get nice pictures in 10 kbytes, depending of its contents.
