a multi-byte encoding question

I am still very confused about multi-byte encoding. A simple question.

Will chrSpace = ' ' = 0x0020 show up as a space in all textfields on the
screen of every Palm?  Similar questions about chrHorizontalTabulation [tab]
and chrLineFeed [linefeed]. Thanks. Best regards, Paul
