Another approach would be for you both to use .r (MPW Rez) or .rcp (PalmRC)
files, which are textual descriptions of resources. As a bonus, it is
easier to use source code control, conditional compilation, includes, spell
checkers, and other nice tricks.

We use .r/.rcp files for all non-graphic resources in our apps.
