That's a lovely sentiment, but unfortunately naive. My first
attempt at registration failed when, after a month of waiting,
I got an email saying we'd filled the form in wrong. My request
for elaboration was ignored (and that's after waiting three
days for a reply that only said "This question has not been sent
from the email address specified in your profile and therefore
won't be answered"). One would think that an IT company
could automate that refusal, but apparently it had to float to
the top of someone's in tray in order to be ignored.

My second attempt five months later achieved success after
only five or six of waiting (we were *very* careful about
filling in the duplicate printed forms).

Combine this with the fact that it took us eight weeks for Palm
to deliver the CW6 upgrade we were due (and urgently needed
to overcome a debugger problem) and I've come to the
conclusion that the 'Palm officials' have no interest in any
business outside the US.

HandSpring, on the other hand, answered a recent enquiry
regarding retail stores quickly and with a later follow-up
with details.
