Choice of UI element

I'm new to Palm programming and find it rather strange - so this is 
possibly a silly question ...
I have a list of about 1000 words. I want to put them on the screen and let 
the user scroll through and select one. Do I use a table or a list control 
(or some other) to do this? Tables are overcomplicated for this?
