Making the user scroll through a 1,000 item list on any screen seems
somewhat sadistic.
Can you create some kind of nested search, grouping the words in
logical manner so that, after 2 or 3 screens, the user is only presented
with a list of 10 to 30 choices.
List controls are easier but less flexible. Tables are infinitely flexible and
support formal scroll bars, but take more programming effort.
