Changing OS Versions

I currently have a Palm IIIxe with OS 3.5.0 but am learning with
applications that have 3.1.  I already had to reset my palm b/ of a fatal
error and was asking if it's possible to upload different OS to my palm
device so I can continue learning with the 3.1 samples?
