Eduardo,
I've been doing some work using Waba, which is a Java clone specifically
targeted at Palm devices. There are various flavors of this (unfortunately)
such as JumpWaba and SuperWaba. You can get more information at:
www.wabasoft.com
Its primitive, but a great environment for bringing up a demo or proof of
concept system. I've built fairly fully featured wireless demos using
SuperWaba, and it works surprisingly well.
There is also Sun's J2ME for Palm devices, which you can access from Sun's
Javasoft site. The UI widgets for J2ME are sadly incomplete and due to be
replaced soon, so this is a less satisfactory solution right now. In 6
months or so it should be much better.
I'm using Borland's JBuilder as the IDE for both SDKs.
