Be careful here - are you using a release ROM or a debug ROM?
When I switched from the debug to the release rom I stopped getting ANY frmUpdate
events because the pop up alerts and keyboards
saved and restored your form without needing a frmUpdateEvent...
You may go though a lot of preparation that is never used on the actual device.
