Maybe you can try to Save as.. you image
as 24-bit color in Paint before doing
the copy and paste.

To clarify, the issue is just getting an external grayscale bitmap into
Constructor. I can manually create such a bitmap in Constructor with no
problems, and I'm not yet concerned with displaying the image on the
Palm, which obviously doesn't work because the image is garbled in
Constructor.

Subject: Importing Grayscale Bitmaps into Constructor

I'm sure I'm missing something simple here, but I'm baffled.
I am trying to import an externally created bitmap into Constructor via
the clipboard. In Constructor, I create a new bitmap resource and set
the size correctly. I go to Paint Shop Pro, open the image and set the
color depth to 2 bit greyscale, select all, Edit/Copy. I go back to
Constructor, go to the bitmap window and do an Edit/Paste.
The result is a shaded rectangle (the correct size, but nothing like the
image). On the chance that PSP was doing something odd, I've also tried
using MS Paint to copy the image to the clipboard, with the same
result. I've also tried using both Constructor 1.5 and 1.6. The only
way I can get it to work is when I convert the image to B&W, but I
really need the greyscale image.
Thanks,
Tom
