Another possibility is to use the Symbol SPT1746 (basically a Palm with a
bar code reader and a wireless radio supporting 802.11b protocol) in
conjunction with an 802.11b wireless access point (both Symbol and 3Com make
them). I have only used them to develop applications where the 1746
communicates using TCP/IP with a PC based application, but I think Palm to
Palm applications could be developed in exactly the same way. These units
use NetLib, not the Internet Library, so you have a bit more work to do, but
I find them very friendly to develop with.
