You should read the OS4 docs. It contains a PDF file that explains the pdb
and prc file format in detail.

Hotsync has an overhead to the number of records a database contain. A 1mb
pdb file with 1000 records is going to sync *much* slower than a 1mb pdb
file with 1 record. The solution is that if you can somehow make ur app use
less number of records, the faster the database will sync.
