Yes.

Writing records is the most time consuming part of the process.
Therefore fewer large records will be quicker to install than many small
records, even if the total size is the same. There is a tool
(PdbCruncher??) that you might search for on PalmGear and see if it will
help.

Part of the header info is a list of small entries (one for each record
in the database) that gives the offset to the record, it's local id and
attributes (category, modified/deleted/archived/etc flags).
