Perhaps turning off any relevant "speedup" hacks, such as Afterburner,
and give it a quick reset-pin reset to reset the communications port/libs.
That should do it, unless you think you just had one die on you.
I'm not aware of any USB-based diagnostic tools, other than USBSnoopy,
which I use quite extensively here. Install->RePlug->Sync, see if anything
spits out.
