Hi, I'm afraid I had the same problem. I hard-resetted my m505, and still it
didn't work. I put it on my laptop (which doesn't have the hotsync
software), and used the usbview diagnostic tool to see if it popped up -- no
avail. I did manage to hotsync it again, but only through the IR port which
took several hours. I ended up calling buy.com (where I'd purchased it from)
and had gotten another one. The new palm hotsynced fine, either in the new
or old cradle. I had assumed it was a result of physical damage to the palm,
though now that I think about it, the problems all started after an improper
reset. The weird thing though is that the hard reset should (hopefully) have
repaired that?
I also upgraded my old Vx to that first m505 by hotsyncing all of the old
stuff into the m505, so perhaps some program activated an incompatible
register.
I hope this helps!

What is USBSnoopy ?

I not only have no hack installed the device no longer works even after a
hard reset. I decided to contact Palm Support and they told me that they
are getting a very large number of reports regarding this problem.
Unfortunately they don't know what is causing it yet.
