Just a note to this discussion.
I found out from Code Warrior that I can't debug on the device using a usb
cradle so have to
get a second serial cradle to do development regardless of operating system.
My device is an m500.
So the operating system didn't help much there.
Also, you might remember that NT4 is a very old OS.  Many of the driver's
date back to 96.
MS did do something about it, Win2000(aka NT5).
