Oops, you're right, I think this is the problem.  The other stuff must
have been fixed in the original code to get to here, but none of it
looks like a cause of the crash.  (The hextxt/hexHandle handle/pointer
arguments are redundant, but they don't seem to be doing anything
illegal.)
