I'd just copy the Memo Pad source code and project files, then blast away to
create your modified version. The key is to avoid using the same creator
code for your application as the built in Memo Pad uses. That way, if a user
tries out your Memo Pad replacement and decides he doesn't like it, he won't
lose all his memos! If you haven't done so already, I suggest doing the
tutorial. It'll help get you familiar with the Memo Pad source code, so you
can figure out where changes are needed to get what you want.
