I am new to the Palm OS and creating applications, however, I have some
questions about the apparent direction of Palm PDA's and the industry in
general.
What I love about the Palm is it's simplicity. One takes information
from the PC out into the field. With a few taps, the information is
readily available. In the classic sense, the Palm takes information
with you; it is not the primary creator of information.
Now it appears that Palm is under pressure from two fronts: the Cell
Phone and the CE devices. The Cell Phones will have the Palm OS or it's
equivalent and there by make the Palm obsolete. The CE devices have
enphasis on "creating information" in addition to taking information
with you.
So, Palm buys Be. Will my simple and very useful Palm morph into a CE
unit with all of the complexity?
