As far as I know, unique IDs aren't preserved when beaming databases or
transferring them to and from expansion cards. I don't have experience with
this area of Palm OS, so I could be wrong. I don't know which version of Mac
HotSync manager fixed this bug, but it was fixed years ago. An alternative
to unique IDs is generating your own IDs and storing them with the data
associated with that ID. I'm sorry I don't have more detailed answers to
your questions.
