Hi all,

Is it possible to develop a wireless application between a handheld and
laptop running in peer to peer ad-hoc mode?
I have a Xircom Springboard (802.11b) connected to my handspring visor and a
Xircom NIC (802.11b) connected to my laptop. I want to be able to send data
back and forth between each other without the need for an access point or
wired network.

Setting it up in Ad-hoc mode, I've given the handheld and laptop each own IP
address and have been able to ping each other and do a wireless hotsync.

However, when I try to develop my app using netlib, I run into the problem
of there not being a DNS server available. Thus when a connection is trying
to be made, no host can be looked up. If there isn't a dns server available
in ad-hoc mode, how can a connection be made through netlib?

Has anyone successfully developed an app that runs in ad-hoc mode?

Thanks.

Ray
