On windows, the Palm OS Emulator doesn't sync through serial (unless you have a loopback cable). It syncs with "network sync".
On linux...best bet is to go down to Best Buy or CompUSA and pick up a Null-Modem serial cable and loop /dev/ttyS0 and /dev/ttyS1 Configure POSE to /dev/ttyS1 anc coldsync to /dev/ttyS0. There you go..... Can't remember...does Cold Sync or Pilot Xfer do network sync yet? Last time I checked they didn't. So, serial cable's your only solution (with these two conduit engines).
