Ha! I finally figured out how to "legally" create a frameless button. Well, at least for my client's specific need.
Create a repeatingPushButton (which, by definition has no frame), then treat all repeat taps as a single tap. I hate having to go through Kansas City to get to Boston from Miami .. but whatever works !!
