thanks Heather, but I did not understand what you meant by "the renewal product". I purchased the Metrowerks codeworrior R6 (about 1.5 years ago) at that time that was the most up to date version. Only last week I started a new project and found out that I really needed to upgrade my SDK (I haven't used the codeworrior during the past year or so). I downloaded the new SDK 4 (I also tried it with the SDK 3.5) From the palm developers site, and I figured out that I need to do what you suggested, and directed the project access paths to the new folder. I tried first to the "palm os support" directory which was created by the SDK 4 upgrade installer, and as I mentioned I tried the same thing with the "palm os 3.5 support" directory. (the SDK that is currently installed is 3.1). the problem is that I "make" the project I get errors like "can't find/open pilot.h" or "can't open us.prefix.h" and of course a lot of undefined const. and types, as a result. I also noticed that the SDK 4 installer has created a new directory "c:/palm OS 4.0 SDK" (notice that it is not in the codeworrior dir) which has some stuff in it also, and I don't really know if it should be there.
I appreciate you help. To use the new SDK, just point your project's access paths at the Palm OS Support folder instead of the Palm OS 3.1 or 3.5 Support folder. > 2. is it possible, or should i upgrade my codeworrior ? > 3. If you purchased the renewal product and tried to install that, it should have been very clear that that product would only allow an upgrade from version 7 (not from 6). If that wasn't clear, let me know where you purchased it from, and we will work on getting the wording fixed, and find an appropriate resolution to getting you a product that you can install. -hkmlt -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
