Makes sense.  Recently I fixed a logic bug in one of my apps that made the
nag screen pop up more than I intended it to.  Now it only shows when you
launch the app, instead of every time you go back to the initial form
(which is potentially a few times while the user is in the app).  I noted
that fix in the change log and, after a user registered it 2 days later,
he emailed me back saying that that one change prompted him to buy. 

It seems others are following that pattern, too...
