Hi, I am new, so please don't laugh ... I haven't been able to debug to the device. The emulator works great, but there seems to be a problem connecting to the device. I have a Palm 515 and am trying to debug in CodeWarrior 8. I was using a USB cradle to connect, but tech support at CodeWarrior told me the USB standard changed with the m515 and it won't host CodeWarrior's debugger connection. So now I've got a serial cable instead. It's a knockoff brand, but I'm trying not to let that stop me.
It HotSyncs with the serial cable ok, so the connection is working for some things, but when trying to connect from within the debugger it times out after about 4 seconds and gives me a Failed to Connect error dialog (which is exactly what it did when trying with the USB). The Preferences are set to Com1 and I'm guessing on the speed but I've tried them all. HotSync is disabled/must be started manually. The machine has been rebooted. The Palm has been soft reset. The shortcut..2 is being written correctly. Has anyone had any experience with this? Should this be so much trouble? What's missing?
