Ah-ha! I see... Okay, well, if I create my own data format, then I can't use WinDrawBitmap. So, I will have to write directly to video memory? But, I've heard that this is not recommended!
What do you think about this? Do you write directly to video memory in your games (Lemmings)? Thanks for your insight, Aaron...you've been very helpful! :) -Robert www.bapsoft.com ------------------------------------------------------ just because it is Tbmp - doesn't mean you have to use WinDrawBitmap() to draw it :P you can define whatever you like, maybe your own compression and decompression/drawing routines. i can easily craete a Tbmp resource like so: DATA "Tbmp" ID 10 "myrawdata.dat" try loading the programs into a program like prc-explorer.. maybe constructor is not capable of displaying everything :) maybe astraware are using Tbmp resources - [/me has a look] bejewelled has no Tbmp resources, the bitmaps look like they are stored as aPPP resources :) which, they are probably defining internally to prevent people "stealing" their gfx :P // az [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ardiri.com/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
