Actually if you have a unit with flashable ROM then putting your program into flash memory is pretty straightforward. It is the best solution when you can't afford to lose the program. It also means you can't use the lowest cost Palm OS units because they don't have flash memory, just hard ROM Handera, amongst others, market a utility to do this. Symbol provide a flash update utility for free.
