possible. In future i percieve we need it :)

no, if we need that application on the palm, then someone will program it
FOR palm, and it'll take less than100k of space. maybe up to1mb, but that's
the maximum i'd say. it's just another dimension. you also cant plug your
dvd drive you use in your pc to your palm, nor can you connect your palm to
your mondern flatscreen.

them?

the palm os IS mature. but it was not concipied for having a codewarrior
demo with 36 mb installed on it.

> 2. What about the other Palm OS competetors, how far can they handle the
application?

palm os competitors... there are: WinCE - that's not "real" windows either.
you maybe can copy and paste word and excel documents between desktop and
wince device, but you cant copy and paste a desktop application and expect
it to run on the ce device. it's another platform. not concipied for such
use either. then there would be the sharp zaurus running linux, but it's not
the complete linux either. and i doubt that any of those devices have more
than 32Mb (maybe 64Mb).

about the palm being a server: dont know what you need that for. the palm
CAN be a server, it can handle connections. for example it can send and
receive data via the infrared port. when one palm (or another device, ie a
pc) sends data and one receives, then we got a client and a server. a real
good software designer would maybe even get a palm to handle multiple
(pseudo) connections, making it possible for more palms to connect to one
infrared port (where in fact only one palm would be connected at a time, and
the connection would be switched between the devices). but that's more than
hardcore.

as idries said: "A server" is a pretty vague requirement.
there are: webservers, application servers, fileservers, and and and. if you
really think you had a good idea ;o) then please specify what you really
want to do.
