the name should be enough (you get an error when you try to create a db with a name that already exists).
another possibility (if you make the dbs) is to specify different types for your dbs.. this way you can open them using DmOpenDatabaseByTypeCreator. but types dont have to be unique, so this only works if you created the databases.
