I don't have any suggestions about the code, but the tools installation shouldn't affect the abiltiy to target the different OSes.I am seeing problems with the serial code that you suggested I implement a week or two ago (using a shared library that receives notifications that I send using SysNotifyBroadcastFromInterrupt() ). I tried setting up the serial port as recommended by Hal Schechner in the post "Re: Tungsten Serial Comm", but it still crashes on the Tungsten we have here in house (works fine my m515). I want to get it in the simulator so I can see what is happening, but I still want all of my code to run on an m515.
I've seen a number of problems with Tungsten T serial programming -- I think its going to take getting failure cases reported to Palm and having engineers there confirm the operation. The TT has totally different setial hardware than the Dragonball-based devices, so its very likely that they didn't get it all implemented identically, and its possible that the XScale-powered Sony NX70V acts differently again.
