Symbol have seriously fallen under the Microsoft spell, and were subject to an incredible level of MS sales activity including very heavy bad-mouthing of Palm, Inc. to their sales force. This despite the large sales volumes of their Palm OS based units and high support levels required by WinCE and PPC units. Currently the 1800 and 1550 are very nice devices which run OS4.1 and have 160x160 grayscale screens. There was supposed to be a color version of the 1800 based with a 160x240 color screen based on the Handera soft-graphiti API's, but I'm not sure of its status. Generally I fault Palm Inc here for allowing themselves to be out flanked by MS in a critical licensee. (end of Rant...) Roger Stringer Marietta Systems, Inc.
