I'd agree with this.  

That's the reason the color version of the 1800 has been sitting 
around for well over a year now and still not in production, despite
the release of the color version of the PPC-based 2800 which uses 
the same plastics and screen.   Similarily, no support for a 2D 
scanner on the 1800, even though one was available on the now 
obsolete 1700.

And a general bias towards releasing new devices with PPC and 
not with PalmOS.

And still no color alternative to the 1550, which would be really,
really desirable!
