When hunting bugs on-device which cause frequent crashes requiring a push to the soft-reset button...
Get a thumbtack, and with a pair of side-cutters, snip the point to about 2-4 mm, place it inside the soft-reset hole, and affix it loosely with insulating tape. Then, with each crash, it's just a matter of reaching behind the unit and gently pressing the tack. So much easier than the repetitititive ritual of taking it out of the cradle, finding the bent paperclip and sticking it into the hole.
