The dialer setup would be the next place I would check. Unfortunately, I tried to find the doc or code snippet that I used to figure out how to dial the 180/270, and I can't find any descriptive info, just the source code I have. Weird. It wouldn't surprise me if the dialer helper setup is different for the 180/270 and the 300. Mine was only ever tested on the 180/270, and I'm not readily set up to try it on the 300 for various reasons.
Here's a more basic question: are you using the Phone library or the GSM library?
