My post is obviously a comment on the newsgroup, rather than the platform per se. Anyway, what makes your 'moaning' about developers more valid than another's 'moaning' about the platform?
Criticizing the platform is 'doing something', as long as it's done in a constructive way. Discouraging others' criticism -- as is often customary in this group -- is not just pointless, it's obstructive. Many lazy people post questions here without making the simplest effort to understand the Palm OS. Others, like the original poster, obviously try to understand but are tripped up by one of the platform's unexpected 'features'. Treating these groups like they are one in the same is not just rude, it's counterproductive. Obviously, no platform is perfect. But reflexively mocking developers who air their frustration will not improve the Palm OS. Except, perhaps, in your head. Does anyone really mean to suggest that this platform has no flaws, that there is nothing worthy of complaint? Are you sure the developers at PalmSource and elsewhere are uninterested in their users' opinions? If so, keep characterizing complainants as lazy and ignorant. We'll have Microsoft beat in no time.
