Long time no post... >itself. I'd buy slickedit - its cheap and good and geared up to running >other compilers (it's purely an editor) :)
I use EditPlus 2 (I've actually bought a copy to boot ;), it has almost-native support for any compiler (just need to point it in the right direction), supports output capturing and understands warning/error messages from the GNU tools (and MS, I believe), it supports syntax highlighting of any language you can imagine (it has exceptional support for HTML/PHP/JavaScript), I have made my own C syntax file for Palm code (it highlights common PalmOS API functions) and you can download more syntax files (like RCP, though I made one of my own of these too. The one on the site is missing some of the new keywords like BITMAPFAMILYEX) from the website. It also has a spelling checker, sort functionality, regular expression search/search'n'replace, column select, native FTP support (open/save remote files), and more. *takes a deep breath* It also happens to be _just_ an editor. ;-) http://www.editplus.com/ (shameless plug) My loonie, Matthew Bevan -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
