Great. Here's what happened when I just tried to get a demo for myself. (The last time I used it was a on 98 at a clients office in case you're wondering.) I've not totally revised my opinion of SlickEdit and will gladly go look at your suggestion, thanks :)
Read this from the bottom up......... ====================================== So, what you're telling me then is that the free demo is piracy protected, but the full-blown article isn't ?!? I want a demo of how the program would run on my machine if I bought it. Seeing as this isn't an available option, I'll have to look elsewhere. Thanks for your time...... This can only be accomplished by inserting a network card into the machine, such that it will produce a hostID for your machine. * Please note that this is due to the FLEXlm licensing protection of the trial, and the full product will not be node locked or require FLEXlm licensing. * Thank you for choosing Visual SlickEdit, if you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again. --Ryan Product Support Engineer SlickEdit Inc. 919-473-0070 www.slickedit.com -----Original Message----- From: Paul Johnson Sent: Friday, August 01, 2003 4:52:23 AM To: Support Subject: SlickEdit Trial Hi. SlickEdit's been recommended to me as the answer to my woes of trying to use CodeWarrior for palm development (I'm a Brief man at heart and am mostly used to DevStudio/Embedded Visual C these days). However, I can't download the trial as I'm unable to provide a Mac address. When you work from home on a single machine there's not much call for a network card, especially when plugging one in but not connecting to a network seems to cause all sorts of windows problems. Is there anything that can be done about this please ?
