I have tried using up to 3 Palm PDAs all connected at the same time, but I HotSynced them separately. Two were connected through serial and the third through USB. I had to specify which serial port I wanted to use, but no changes had to be made to sync by USB. My guess is that it worked for me because they were all Palm products (Palm V, Palm VII, and a Palm m515) and not of different brands.
I'm new to this, so I don't know a whole lot. Are they connecting through USB? It seems like each PDA requires its own HotSync. Proprietary Sony might have created their own version, as usual, so the Palm one might not work for the Sony PDA and the Sony HotSync might not work for the Palm PDA. What happens if you try to install both at the same time? Do they erase each other? If not, the solution might be running the corresponding HotSync version for the PDA you want to sync.
