The Palm III and many other models, uses the same UART to drive the serial port and the IR port. It can not use both ports at the same time.

I launch my application with a normal launch code, and then I start beaming to it with a Cli�. The Cli� keeps searching for a destination device, but the IIIxe in its cradle doesn't react to the beam. Yet, the same operation outside debugging works. I tried launching my application with a AskUser or Receive launch code, with no better results.
