I am using the serial manager to interface a custom keypad. In it I'm
loading a wakeup handler to service the serial port. The interface works
fine but when I close the program and try to Hotsync, the PDA won't respond
to a Hotsync until I do a cold boot. When I press the Hotsync button my
program starts, if it isn't already running. I have to do whatever a cold
boot does to reprime the serial port to hotsync when my program terminates,
but what is that?

I am closing the serial port when my program terminates and it closes with
a zero status.

The program has to work on a Handera 330 which has version 1 of the serial
manager. Some of the calls in version 2 look like they might do what I need
to do but I can't use them.

This has got to be a problem dozens of developers have encountered with a
well-worn solution. I beseech you for help.
