what is with the ; on these lines?

*.bin is generated by the bin.stamp routine - but, it is not
being verified as a dependency.

well, either you are really stupid, or you are blind. can you
read that first error message? what does it tell you?
why not give up on prc-tools and head over to www.metrowerks.com and
purchase codewarrior - its built such that you dont need to worry
about things like makefiles. many people have been using prc-tools
with multi-segments for years now, including myself.
the fact that John even pointed you to a *real* example of using
what you are trying to achieve and you still are messing it up
tells me you need to either read a bit more, or consider changing
compilers.
free compilers sometimes require .... you to think.
