The Zire 71 and Tungsten/T3 have separate serial and IR ports. The Tungsten/T IR and console share the same serial hardware. Watch out for the non-support of raw IR on the Zire 71. I don't know about the Sonys, but they're worth checking out. Some people have had to modify their 68k serial code to work with OS/5, even though the specifications are the same. Wakeup handler support in OS/5 doesn't work in 68k mode, although it might with Arm native code.
