Hi Robert, you're right that sysNotifyLateWakeupEvent works no matter how a device is turned on. But if you need to display an alert using this event, be informed that it might not work on some devices. The alert will be overriden by the form of any applications set to be launched by the hardware button.

Matthew, are you sure about this: "if you start the Palm using any of
the other hardware buttons, it doesn't send either
sysNotifyLateWakeupEvent or sysNotifyEarlyWakeupEvent". I use those
notifications to resond to ANY hardware button press that wake up the
device, and I have confirmed this on T3, PalmV/Vx, and m500. Bob.

Ah, you know what, I was too clever for my own good. I figured I'd write a little test app to see how sysNotifyLateWakeupEvent works. My test app popped up a little alert when it got the notification. Looks like if you turn on the Palm, the alert pops up. If you start the Palm using a hardware key, the alert code runs but the alert doesn't pop up. All I care about is getting the notification, so that'll work.
