Waiting for an OS change won't help; this is a hardware issue. Assuming you are registered as a developer at palmOne, you could have checked it's plugged in program FAQ's and found this entry: http://pluggedin.palmone.com/regac/pluggedin/auth/FAQ#raw_IR It also mentions sample code in their SDK (palmOne's, not Palm OS) that gives an example of how to do IrDA framing yourself. Log in to palmOne to download. You may prefer to just say you don't support the OMAP processor based units; you certainly would not be alone among those apps formerly using raw IR. This limitation of the OMAP has been beaten to death since the first days after the Tungsten T was shipping. If you're just learning about it now, you haven't been paying attention or searching the archives or FAQ.
